She fluctuates a fragile line,
Between indulgently warming and alarmingly cold, I find
she twists her woven gauze,
incorporates her flaws
a patronising course of the disturbingly uncommitted.

Unfit for thinking anything beyond her pursuit for surface fun
nothing so numb within my undone mind will run so slow.
She ought to sit and see what she does to me
as all but everything i feel i reel from half-telling tongue.
And half-felled trees, their leaves the words i speak, are almost falling,
almost ready, almost a warning for what i know we know we have

and when we sat, unsteady,
half your hearing mine – I sighed.
I sat in solitude and cried for all the times
i felt we’d find a place.

A moment fleeting facing forward,
half glances hoarded
as music poured it sat
the backdrop to your laugh
not the forefront for our passing lack of control
you made me half of whole

you know i dont know what that means
and truth be told im neither sure i want to pour my heart out
or sit back, silence out of darkness sparking nothing but half words
that leave me more unclear and fearing
than they do help me speak at all
